Practice Plus Group (PPG) is seeking an experienced Hospital Director to lead Practice Plus Group Hospital Southampton through a pivotal period of transformation, growth and relocation.

This is a career‑defining leadership role, deliberately designed for senior leaders with proven private hospital leadership experience.

The Opportunity

PPG Southampton is preparing to relocate into a new, purpose‑built private hospital in the local area, creating a rare opportunity to lead a site through transition, growth and long‑term market positioning.

The new hospital will be one of the Group’s most significant private hospital growth opportunities, offering the successful candidate the chance to:

Lead the end‑to‑end transition into a new hospital environment
Shape clinical, operational and commercial models from the ground up

This is not a steady‑state operational role. It is a senior, strategic leadership appointment with scale, influence and accountability.

Essential Criteria

Proven experience as a Hospital Director, Site CEO or equivalent senior leader within a private healthcare provider
Demonstrable track record of leading a private hospital with full accountability for quality, operations and commercial performance
Significant experience operating in a consultant‑led or mixed consultant model environment, with evidence of engaging, influencing and holding consultants to account
Strong commercial acumen, including delivery against income, cost, EBITDA and growth targets within a competitive private healthcare market
Credible experience leading large, complex, multi‑disciplinary hospital workforces, including senior clinical leaders
Deep understanding of private healthcare governance, regulation, quality assurance and patient experience expectations
