About The Role

Perhaps you want to broaden your clinical experience as part of a portfolio career. Perhaps you need the freedom of more flexible hours. Perhaps you just relish a new challenge. When you join the multidisciplinary team in our Out Of Hours service, you’re back in control.

As the largest independent provider of NHS services, Practice Plus Group is delivering a new model of Integrated Urgent Care that reduces pressures on services and staff. By bringing together urgent care, clinical assessment and primary care services and , NHS 111 call centres, clinical assessment and other urgent care services, we enable patients to access the right care, when they need it. It’s better for everyone.

This is the perfect chance to use and develop all your skills and expertise as a General Practitioner, providing diagnosis, treatment, advice and referrals to other healthcare resources, via primary care centres and home visits. You will also use our electronic prescribing system to effectively  manage the patient.

Based in our various Out Of Hours (OOH) services, you’ll be working autonomously within your sphere of competency as a lead clinician in a multi-skilled team that includes advanced nurse practitioners, registered nurses, UCPs, mental health and dental nurses, prescribing pharmacists and pharmacy advisors.

We can offer this role as either bank or self-employed.

Training & Development

Tailored CPD training delivered via our bespoke Learning Management System.

Extensive training courses accessible via Practice Plus Group Skills Academy.

Great development and career progression opportunities.

During my GP training the part which I enjoyed the most was the out-of-hours (OOH) element with Harmoni (which later became Care UK, now the Practice Plus Group). With no administrative tasks, bloods to file, documents to check, it was as close to the acute care as a GP could get. I was very well supported by Practice Plus Group during this time and was able to excel and make a mark.
