Consultant Anaesthetist

As our Consultant Anaesthetist, you will provide a wide range of anaesthetic cover across 2 sites. The main specialities covered include Orthopaedics, General Surgery, Gynaecology. Ophthalmology, ENT and Urology in the first instance. This will be on an elective basis except where a postoperative patient requires a return to theatre.

Practice Plus Group has a strong commitment to regional anaesthesia and analgesia for Orthopaedic Surgery and successful candidates will be encouraged to support this on an ongoing basis.

In addition to the clinical duties, you will undertake the administrative duties associated with the care of your patients and with the running of the Department. You will be responsible for producing the appropriate clinical records for each patient.  You will work with local managers and professional colleagues in the efficient running of services and will share with consultant colleagues in the medical contribution to management.

At Practice Plus Group we believe in supporting each other and sharing best practice and you would be expected to become an integral part of our team of consultants led by the Medical Director, Hospital Director and Senior leadership management team as well as attending meetings and contributing to teaching of our centre staff.

You will be a UK registered medical professional, who is listed on the Specialist GMC register as well as evidence of speciality training, with –

• several years’ experience, at least 2 of which are within the UK
• Commitment to your own continuing medical education and professional development
• Wide training and experience in anaesthesia.
• Able to offer expert clinical opinion on range of problems in anaesthesia.
• Able to take full and independent responsibility for delivering service without direct supervision..
