About The Role

This is the perfect opportunity to use and develop all your skills and expertise as a General Practitioner, providing diagnosis, treatment, advice and referrals to other healthcare resources, via our PCC. You will also use our electronic prescribing system to effectively manage the patient.

Based in our South West London Out Of Hours (OOH) service at Queen Mary's Hospital, you’ll be working autonomously within your sphere of competency in a multi-skilled team that includes advanced nurse practitioners, registered nurses, UCPs, mental health and dental nurses, prescribing pharmacists and pharmacy advisors. Flexible opportunities, additional to those available at Queen Mary's, are also available in our OOH triage or Home Visiting.

We are proud of our strong, stable infrastructure that ensures clinical safety and provides senior-level clinical support throughout evenings, overnights and weekends. You’ll be able to keep your skills up to date with a CPD programme – and can expect education and training tailored to your needs and future plans.

The Queen Mary’s PCC is open:

Saturday between 17:00 - 22:00
Sunday between 13:00 - 20:00

During my GP training the part which I enjoyed the most was the out-of-hours (OOH) element with Harmoni (which later became Care UK, now the Practice Plus Group). With no administrative tasks, bloods to file, documents to check, it was as close to the acute care as a GP could get. I was very well supported by Practice Plus Group during this time and was able to excel and make a mark.
