Substance Misuse Recovery Worker

As our new Substance Misuse Recovery Worker, your responsibilities will vary. Some of your duties will include:

• Delivering outstanding care to psychosocial patients, seeking out, listening to, and acting on their feedback - ensuring that their care is personalised and tailored to the individual 
• Manage a caseload of patients with varying needs, including substance misuse, mental health, trauma etc
• Providing a programme of psychosocial interventions and comprehensive assessments
• Provide information and advice on substance misuse, alcohol, smoking cession, blood borne viruses and safe sex practices 
• Prepare patients for release and transfer
• Delivering care on a 1-1 basis as well as group sessions
• Work with adult males and within the YOI
• Assisting the healthcare team across other pathways as needed

• Have experience within a healthcare setting, ideally a prison / secure environment
• Ideally have experience of working within the substance misuse multi-disciplinary framework, which includes housing, social care, health care and mental health pathways
• Have a flexible approach, and excellent communication skills
• Any SystmOne experience would be a bonus
