Golden Hello bonus available for Pathways trained Clinicians of £2500(Pro-Rata)
Looking for a different way to make the most of your post-registration experience and potential? Moving into our 111 call centre environment in Dorking or even working from home could provide an improved work/life balance and a better chance to do your best work.
As the largest independent provider of NHS services, Practice Plus Group is delivering a new model of Integrated Urgent Care that reduces pressures on services and staff. By bringing together NHS 111 call centres, clinical assessment and other urgent care services, we enable patients to access the right care, when they need it. It’s better for everyone.
This is an opportunity to build on your nursing, paramedic or pharmacy experience – and to continue to deliver outstanding patient care – without the physical strain of acute work. As a Clinical Advisor supporting our 111 call centre operations, you’ll be a key part of a multidisciplinary team providing high quality, evidence-based healthcare.
Whether you’re based in the call centre or in your own home, calls will be directed to you from our 111 health advisors when clinical support is needed. Using a combination of your expertise and the NHS Pathways triage tool, you’ll ensure the patient receives the most appropriate treatment – from advice on self-care to referral to other services. Although these are not emergency calls, you may need to deal with emotional, distressing or life-threatening scenarios and to arrange for 999 services if required.
Extensive, paid training is offered in the use of the Pathways system. You can choose from two training options: full-time Monday-Friday (9am-5pm) for four weeks; or part-time Tues, Weds, Thurs (6pm-9.30pm) and Sat-Sun (9am-5pm) for five weeks. You must attend every training day. This is followed by a further eight weeks’ support before you are signed off to work on your own. Prior to starting training, we’ll provide you with a workbook to review and complete – this may seem a little daunting but it will show you what to expect.
Once you’ve completed your training, you can join the team full or part-time on a variety of shift patterns to suit your lifestyle. These range from 16–37.5 hours per week and operate on a 2-8 week rotating rota that includes daytime, evenings, nights and weekend working. We also offer the opportunity to move into partial or full home working once you have settled into the role.
