About The Role

Outpatient Desk Coordinator - 15 hours

(Outpatient Clinic Coordinator)

If you are an experienced Administrator with a customer focused approach then we could have just the role for you.

We are looking for Outpatient Desk Coordinator to join our welcoming and diverse Administration team based at our Emerson’s Green hospital to work 15 hours a week over 2 shifts.

This would be ideal for someone who wishes to supplement their wages or maybe for someone who wants a part time role to fit around child care.

   

Scope the Role

An Outpatient Coordinator is the central point of contact for the patient and as such liaises with clinicians and other hospital teams to put the patient at the centre of the service delivery.

The primary purpose of the role is to coordinate the flow of patients arriving in the Outpatients department to ensure that the patient experience is optimised and patient journey times through the department are minimised.

To organise and manage the tracking of patient notes from Outpatients to the relevant departments

To identify any opportunities to enhance and improve the patient experience within Outpatients Pre Assessment team within Emerson’s Green Treatment Centre.

Also to coordinate processes and people to ensure a smooth flow through the outpatient department


About You

Who we're looking for

Someone with recent and relevant experience, who has excellent communication and interpersonal skills as well as the ability to work under pressure.

Someone who if friendly and personable as this role will involve liaising with patients and relatives, clinical staff and other teams within the hospital.

Just as important though is your flexibility, belief in teamwork and your ability to use your initiative, follow instructions and prioritise a busy workload

  • Experience in an Administration environment
  • Team player
  • The ability to work on your own and as part of a team
  • Understanding of the importance of the patient and places them at the centre of service
  • Excellent organisational skills to organise self as well as activities and patient flows in the department
