About the Job:

In GP OOH we assess and treat patients who require urgent unscheduled intervention suitable for treatment by general practice clinicians when the GP surgeries are closed. Our referrals come from either 111, via a dedicated health care professional line used by paramedics and district nursing teams or from the AED or MIU.

We currently offer a telephone consultation first system to offer high quality remote patient management via telephone and video technology where appropriate, but if a patient needs a face to face review or examination then this is offered at either of our bases at George Eliot Hospital Nuneaton, Warwick General Hospital, Rugby St Cross Hospital, or Coventry Walk In Centre, as well as via home visits where appropriate.

The role brings forth many opportunities and I have had the chance to be involved in, such as rolling out new services, mobilising, monitoring and making improvements. I have also been involved in running some pilot studies to implement new, improved and efficient ways to provide high standards of care to our patients.
