About The Role

Are you someone who is looking to work night shifts and make a difference to people’s lives? As a key part of the 111 team, you would be doing just that.

We are currently looking for passionate individuals to join us as a Health Advisor for our 111 Call Centre based in Southall. The 111 service operates 24/7 and we have opportunities available for you to join our team, working night shifts only, at a competitive rate of £13.56 per hour (during the week) and £14.03 per hour over the weekends. The night shifts run from 23:00pm to 07:00am.

As a Heath Advisor, you would be responsible for handling calls from members of the public and assessing patients using a state of the art triage tool called NHS Pathways. You will handle calls that are both urgent and non-urgent – the 111 service is a service where people when they have an urgent but not life threatening healthcare need, however there are times you will be faced with more urgent and life threatening situations.

We offer extensive training that equips you with valuable skills to ensure you are confident in your role of a Health Advisor and that will help you handle the different types of calls and situations that you are faced with in your role. We have two training courses that you can choose to join – there is a part time training course and full time training course. The hours for the training are:

  • Full Time Course – Monday to Friday, 9am to 5pm, for 4 weeks.
  • Part Time Course – Tuesday, Wednesday & Thursday, 6pm to 10pm, AND 9am to 5pm on Saturday and Sundays for 5 weeks.

The upcoming training course start dates are:

  • 3rd April - Full Time Course 
  • 15th April - Part Time Course 

About You

What you will need:

  • GCSE/Functional Skills English and Maths at Grade C (or equivalent) or above.
  • A real passion for helping other people, with the ability to learn all sorts of new skills and to thrive and develop in a fun, friendly, well-supported team.

  • £13.56 per hour - contractual night rate (23:00pm to 07:00am) 
  • £14.03 per hour - red zone weekend rate (T&C's apply)
