About The Role

Calling all night owls, have you wanted to play your part in an exciting service that really makes a difference to everyone’s lives? As a key member of our 111 team in Ipswich you’ll be doing just that!

This is your chance to train to be a Call Handler/Health Advisor in our 111 call centre, handling calls from members of the public. You’ll learn how to use a state-of-the-art triage tool called NHS Pathways to assess patients over the phone and direct them to the most appropriate care.

Our up coming training(start) dates are:

  • Saturday 15th April - Part Time - Sat-Sun (9am-5pm) Tues, Weds, Thurs (6pm-9.30pm) for 5 weeks
  • Tuesday 2nd May - Full Time - Monday to Friday (9:00am-5:00pm) for 4 weeks

The extensive training equips you with valuable skills and includes assessments.  You must attend every training day. This is followed by a further eight weeks’ support before you are signed off to work on your own

Once you’ve completed your training, you can join the team

  • Full or part-time on a variety of shift patterns to suit your lifestyle.
  • We could offer shift starting 1800 - 0200 x 5 shifts per week (with one of these at the weekend).

However, please note that this is a 24/7, 365-days-a-year service and is particularly busy at weekends and weekday evenings – so you should expect to work at these times, plus some bank holidays, which may include Christmas.

Rates of Pay:

£14.03 per hour – Red Zone weekend rate
