As an Advanced Nurse Practitioner with independent prescribing, you'll deliver face-to-face services, enabling patients to obtain health information from the appropriate health care professional. You will be providing safe and effective health assessments and treatment of patients within the establishment.

You'll be accountable for your practice including the assessment, diagnosis, treatment, and discharge or referral of patients, independent of medical intervention.

Practicing within your sphere of competence and agreed acceptable limits of practice, you'll assess patients, and order and interpret investigations, diagnose and treat patients who wish to be seen by an Advanced Nurse Practitioner. You'll be responsible for the assessment of care needs the development, implementation, and evaluation of programmes of care, without supervision, and teaching other nursing and non-nursing staff.

You’ll receive an annual salary up to £58,200 per annum - DOE. 2 year Golden Hello (£2,000 in Year 1 and £1,500 in Year 2 of service - conditions apply).

About You

Utilising your skills in managing patients within a primary care setting and dealing with physical health concerns, mental health issues and minor injuries, you'll be an integral member of the medical team. You will be conducting clinics independently, completing administrative tasks and supporting, or acting as the Duty Doctor and reception processes
 
A driving licence is essential for this role.

The Mount prison originally opened in 1987 as a young offender’s institution. It was designed as a Category C training prison built on the site of a former RAF station on the outskirts of Bovingdon village, Hertfordshire.
