About The Role

Have you thought about working within prison healthcare?
Prisons are one of the most challenging, yet rewarding places for healthcare professionals to work - if you’re looking for a role where you can develop your existing skills and learn something new every day in an environment that never stands still, then this is it!

As a Mental Health Nurse, you will provide a holistic package of care to patients within the prison system, working with the team to develop and maintain delivery of high quality, individualised, evidence based patient centred nursing care. You’ll manage the assessment of health needs, planning, delivery and evaluation of care for the prison population, including clinical risk assessment and delivering group based interventions.

About You

You will have a real passion for developing your clinical skills in an environment that is ever-changing. If you are self-motivated and able to work autonomously as well as showing plenty of initiative when it comes to handling a wide range of situations, then this could be the right role for you!

You should possess a good working knowledge of conducting risk assessments and care planning as well as someone who is creative and forward-thinking to work through the issues that may arise in this challenging but exciting environment. Knowledge in therapeutic interventions such as CBT or Steps to Wellbeing is desirable but transferable clinical skills will be considered with appropriate training provided.

You’ll receive an hourly pay rate of £21.23.

We offer a whole host of additional benefits such as: free DBS check, free uniform, an extensive training and induction structure for all employees along with an employee recognition scheme (for anyone you refer into a permanent role).

It doesn’t stop there… we also offer a company pension scheme which we as Practice Plus Group also pay into, NHS blue light card, discounted Costco memberships, access to Boundless memberships for attractions and parks, shopping discounts, free eye tests for computer screen users, and an 24/7 employee assistance helpline.

About Us

HMP Rye Hill is a Category B men's private prison. Rye Hill has exclusively housed sex offenders since 2014. The prison is next to HMP Onley and Rainsbrook Secure Training Centre, south of Rugby, in the parish of Barby, Northamptonshire,

Practice Plus Group’s mission is Access to Excellence.  Our core values are;

•  We treat patients and each other as we would like to be treated,
•  We act with integrity
•  We embrace diversity
•  We strive to do things better together.
•  Patients can only access excellence if we commit to living our values in everything we do when we’re at work.

If you share these values and have transferable skills we want to meet you!
