About The Role

As the Psychiatrist at HMP Ford you’ll provide dynamic leadership of the mental health profession across the services. You will be pivotal in engaging the mental health workforce to support the delivery of the organisation’s objectives, ensuring the provision of an effective high-quality mental health workforce within the available resources. As part of your role, you will support the Regional Manager in shaping the policies and strategies for developing and modernising mental health practice across the sites in order to ensure high quality, safe and appropriate healthcare services for our patient.

About You

You will have:
  • Registered professional with current registration (GMC)
  • Specialist Registration in either General Adult or Forensic Psychiatry
  • Evidence of Continued Professional Development
  • Approved under section 12 (2) of the MHS 1983
  • Understanding of the complexities of multi-disciplinary and multi-agency working
  • Up to date knowledge in the adult psychiatry and PD
  • Excellent communication skills with patients to understand their needs
  • Awareness of current issues in mental health service provision, policy and legislation
  • A non-judgmental and compassionate approach
  • Knowledge of healthcare policies and best practice
  • Proactive problem solving skills
You’ll receive an annual salary up to £165,000 per annum (pro rota) - depending on experience.
