About The Role

A rare and exceptional opportunity is available at Practice Plus Group for an accomplished and highly experienced clinical leader to join our Secondary Care division as Chief Nurse, Quality and Governance.

Practice Plus Group’s secondary care division provide elective care, diagnostic services, MSK services and urgent care to both NHS and private patients across our portfolio of hospitals, surgical centres and Urgent Treatment Centres.

As Chief Nurse, you’ll report directly to our Group Medical Director and Responsible Officer, as the most senior clinician within the secondary care division.   In this post you will provide professional leadership to the nursing and allied health professional workforce to support the delivery of high quality care. Furthermore you will provide strategic advice and direction in partnership with the Medical Director on recruitment, retention, deployment, professional development and efficiencies.

We provide access to excellence, which is seen no more evidently than in the role of Chief Nurse, in relation to patient care. We are particularly proud of our Care Quality Commission standards, with all of our hospitals and surgical centres rated good or outstanding; you will lead the ongoing improvement of risk management and compliance with CQC standards to maintain and improve our ratings.  You will provide strategic leadership in the implementation of a strategy of continuous improvements to standards of patient care, safety and outcomes.

About You

At Practice Plus Group we recognise the immense value of visible and inspirational leadership. To this end you will support our teams of nurses and AHPs via local Heads of Clinical Services and clinical functional leads to ensure that the highest standards of patient care are delivered and that the patient’s perception of the standards, attitude and communication of nursing is consistently high.

In the role of Chief Nurse you will lead on safeguarding and be called upon to provide assurance to the board in relation to delivery of statutory requirements and best practice standards in caring for all vulnerable patients.  Therefore you will be a strong and confident communicator, adept at providing information and directive, clearly and succinctly.

To be considered for this post you will be an experienced clinical leader, will be an ambassador for quality inspiring staff by their approach to excellent patient experience, patient safety and clinical effectiveness.  You’ll be familiar with the requirements of such seniority to work with stakeholders across an organisation both internally and externally from a variety of disciplines across clinical, medical and operational leaders.
