About The Role

We are seeking Practitioners from an Emergency Nursing/Paramedic background who are committed to working as part of our Urgent Care Team to deliver an excellent and caring service to our patients.
 
It is a great opportunity to develop your skills whilst working and learn from the existing expertise within the department. As part of this role we will help you develop your x-ray interpretation, IRMER, Eye Emergencies, taking charge of the department as well as manipulations and reductions, Haematoma blocks, Ring blocks and suturing.
 
We have a multidisciplinary workforce which consists primarily of Advanced Clinicians and Emergency Practitioners trained in both adult and paediatric disciplines whom are supported by GPs.
 
The main patient groups are patients with minor injury and minor illness. Patients who present to the Urgent Treatment Centre are managed by our expert team of Practitioners/Clinicians with an undifferentiated diagnosis through a process of assessment, formulation of a clinical management plan and subsequently discharge or transfer for definitive care.

About You

The Nurse / Paramedic Practitioner role is aimed at those who have recently qualified at Level 6 or Level 7 in Minor Illness/Injury and actively progressing on the ANP pathway but may not have experience working in urgent or emergency care environment.
 
Being a Practitioner in urgent care is exciting as it gives you many more skills not learnt or practiced in other areas of health care. This includes a wide range of “add on” skills such as manipulations of fractures, reductions of dislocations, local anaesthesia of wounds, fractures and digits, suturing, plastering and so much more!
 
Do you have;
  • Experience as an Emergency / Urgent Care Nurse or Paramedic
  • Qualified to level 6 or 7 in Minor Injuries and/or Illness
  • The ability to deliver safe, effective and compassionate care
  • A commitment to continual personal and professional development

As part of our commitment to you, we will offer and support your development towards advanced practice under the guidance of a robust competency framework via experiential learning and development. We are committed to enhancing our service through high levels of training and development at both Degree and Masters Levels.

The positions are full-time or part-time. We are a 7 day per week, 365 days per year service and we are looking for Practitioners who can work a variety of shifts including evenings/weekends. Our shifts range from 7.5 hours - 12.5 hours and as we understand the need for flexible working, we are also open to discussing hours that suit you.
