About The Role

Are you an experienced HCPC registered Musculoskeletal (MSK) Physiotherapist looking for a new or additional role with career development opportunities?

Have you ever thought about working within a prison environment, helping to rehabilitate and support offenders to live decent and purposeful lives as a member of the community?

If you’re looking for a role where you can develop your existing skills and learn something new every day, then this is the place to be. We believe in a strong work life balance so there is no on call or weekend work.

To ensure the continued quality of care at HMP Bullingdon and HMP Grendon & Springhill, we’re looking for a Physiotherapist to support us and the existing teams to work 12 sessions across these services which are based close to each other.

Working with patients with multiple, complex and/or chronic presentation health issues, you will be responsible for the advanced (MSK) assessment and treatment of patients within the offender healthcare setting, determining clinical diagnosis and clinical treatment indicated as well as maintaining records as an autonomous practitioner.

This is your opportunity to work as part of a forward thinking, innovative health care team; including GPs, nurses, pharmacists, podiatrists and mental health professionals, delivering high quality, best practice treatment.

You will be closely supported and mentored by our Clinical Lead, and this combined with our well-developed appraisal system, in-service training and funding for external clinical courses, you will be provided with an excellent supportive learning environment to continue your professional development.

With proven post-registration experience of assessing and treating MSK conditions in an outpatient setting you must have excellent communication and organizational skills and be willing to learn and develop.

About Us

HMP Bullingdon is a Category B local prison holding both remanded and sentenced prisoners. It accommodates male adults from 18+ and is situated just outside of Bicester and 12 miles from Oxford and 16 miles from Aylesbury.

HMP Grendon is a Category B adult male prison, located near the village of Grendon Underwood, in Buckinghamshire. HMP Grendon is jointly managed with HMP Springhill which is a Category D adult male prison which is situated next to one another.

HMP Grendon and Springhill are located just off the A41, 8 miles away from Bicester and 13 miles from Aylesbury. There are also good road links with Oxford, Leighton Buzzard and Buckingham.

We are the Health in Justice Market leader, providing healthcare services to offenders across the country. Our model of care is our Wellbeing Approach – an integrated, comprehensive approach in recognition of the fact prisoners are a socially-excluded group with healthcare needs which are complex and often associated with poor outcomes. It adopts the premise no single health/wellbeing factor can be taken in isolation of other motivational issues which might impact a person’s care.

When you’re part of the Practice Plus Group team, you don’t just have a job. You have a career. We work with you to help you grow in your role and take your career in the direction you want to go. We’ll help you be the best you can be.

We want our team members to feel motivated and rewarded. So we offer a competitive package of pay and benefits. We also recognise the value of a healthy work-life balance – so we always try to be flexible, helping you fit your working life around your home life.

This role is offering 12 sessions a month split between to sites at 4 hours per session.
