About Us

Practice Plus Group is a specialist provider of NHS services into prison healthcare across over 45 different prisons, young offenders and immigration removal centres. We believe in putting the patient first, regardless of the environment or their history. The prison population is one of the most vulnerable and challenged patient groups in society and the delivery of their health care is conducted within often difficult and demanding environments.

HMP Huntercombe opened as a prison in 1946, the site was originally built as an internment camp during the last war, when for a short period it held Rudolf Hess, on his way south after he famously parachuted into Scotland. Extensive redevelopment has taken place over the last twenty years and there is little left of the wartime buildings. It is a category C adult male establishment holding a solely foreign national population in order to support government priorities on the deportation of foreign national offenders.

Practice Plus Group’s mission is Access to Excellence

  • we treat patients and each other as we would like to be treated,
  • we act with integrity
  • we embrace diversity
  • we strive to do things better together.
  • Patients can only access excellence if we commit to living our values in everything we do when we’re at work.

Please note that this role is subject to Practice Plus Group Terms & Conditions and offers of employment are subject to right to work in the UK, references, an enhanced DBS check and prison vetting.
