As the Occupational Therapist for HMP Winchester you will be assessing, planning, and delivering care and therapeutic interventions to patients with complex and/or unstable health care needs. A key aspect of the role will be reviewing care and therapy interventions. Within the role, y
ou can expect to be involved in all aspects of the care planning approach for clients within your caseload. Multi-partner working is essential so the right level of communication and team working skills are essential. Excellent record keeping skills are a must to ensure that you maintain accurate records and provide the kind of helpful, empathetic support that will make every patient feel at ease.

About You

With a diploma/degree in Occupational Therapy and registered with the HCPC, you will need to be empathetic and willing to learn and develop your skills. Experienced in working as part of a multi-disciplinary team, you'll be able to manage your caseload and apply an application of OT theory in the treatment of patients in an inpatient setting. An understanding of common medical, surgical and neurological conditions is also required.

You’ll have a good understanding of health and safety, along with exemplary record-keeping skills. Self-motivated and able to work well within a team, you’ll show plenty of initiative when it comes to handling a wide range of situations.
 
You’ll receive an annual salary up to £42,850 per annum - depending on experience. About Us

HMP Winchester is a Category B men’s prison for those on remand to local courts with an operational capacity of 690.
