As our Outpatients Manager, you will be joining our team based in the CQC rated good hospital in Gillingham. You will be part of a close knit collaborative team who pride themselves in providing the highest standard of care to our patients and their families. Our Outpatients team is comprised of experienced nurses, practitioners and healthcare assistants supported by our Head of Nursing, Paula.
Your sound clinical and infection control knowledge combined with your ability to solve problems and think both literally and laterally will enable you to coach and support others in your team. We encourage sharing of best practice across our site to develop your skills and take advantage of our excellent clinical leadership knowledge.
You will be responsible for the day to day management of the Outpatient Department, providing leadership to the team of nursing and ancillary staff, while giving necessary professional, clinical practice and motivational support for the team. During times of absence you will also deputies for the Ward Manager, so having a close working relationship with them is key as well as an understanding of the ward.
As well as working with the Ward Manager, you will also work collaboratively with the Theatre manager to develop the service, establishing the department as a centre of excellence within the UK as a national model of excellence.
You will be required to have strong administration and management skills as the coordination and facilitation of activities on a shift by shift basis is essential to ensure a seamless service to patients and the position has a professional obligation for training and development within the sphere and scope of practice in the Outpatient Department. It will also be your responsibility to ensure that there are sufficient clinics provided to meet the volume of referrals
