About The Role

Do you constantly strive to do things better for your patients?
Our unfaltering dedication to quality and innovation is something that we are very proud of. If you are a qualified Mental Health Professional with a degree in Healthcare or Social Work and want to be part of a professional team that is passionate about providing first class patient care, we would like to hear from you.

As a Mental Health Practitioner working within the team at Gatwick Immigration Removal Centre (IRC) you will provide a holistic package of care to patients within the IRC. This includes managing the assessment of health needs, planning, delivery and evaluation of care as well as conducting clinical risk assessments.

You will ensure that you assess physical and mental health of detainees on admission to the removal centre and throughout their period of detention so that any appropriate referral can be made. About You

You will be a registered Mental Health Professional with a degree in Healthcare or Social Work, CQSW/DipSW or equivalent. This could be a dual-qualified (MH and LD) Nurse as identified in the national specification and looking to develop your current skills in a unique and ever changing environment. You will have a passion for learning and development, as well as having the initiative to bring new ideas and opinions on how to improve the healthcare services.

You should possess a good working knowledge of conducting risk assessments and care planning as well as someone who is creative and forward thinking to work through the issues that may arise in this challenging but exciting environment. Knowledge in therapeutic interventions such as CBT or Steps to Wellbeing are desirable but transferable clinical skills will be considered with appropriate training provided.

How will we support you?
• Bespoke induction
• Competency framework
• Regional and national career development opportunities
• Our bespoke Learning Management System to address your learning needs
• Support from the wider team

You’ll receive an annual salary up to £44,412 per annum - depending on experience. We offer a whole host of additional benefits such as: cycle to work scheme, free DBS check, free uniform, an extensive training and development structure for all employees along with an employee recognition scheme.

The IRC facility holds up to 450 adult male residents in Brook House and 162 adult male residents in Tinsley House (currently a short term facility), with a separate small facility for up to three families.

Practice Plus Group’s mission is Access to Excellence.  Our core values are;
we treat patients and each other as we would like to be treated
we act with integrity
we embrace diversity
we strive to do things better together

Patients can only access excellence if we commit to living our values in everything we do when we’re at work.
