About The Role

As a Primary Care Nurse at a high security prison you will work as part of a multi-disciplinary team to deliver a nurse led service and prevent hospital admissions.  You will undertake medication rounds, dispense controlled medication, attend emergency response situations, assess patients, undertake reception screenings, vaccination and phlebotomy clinics, outpatient clinics, and nurse men with long term conditions. We also have an inpatient facility which houses men with both mental and physical health conditions. Part of this unit consists of a palliative nursing cell where we can treat and nurse men in the last stages of their life.

About You

  • Registered nurse – Adult
  • Current professional qualification (NMC)
  • Want to work as part of a team

Disclosure and Barring Service- You will need to obtain Enhanced Level 2 (EL2) clearance additional to Counter Terrorist Check (CTC)

Education and Training- continuing professional development is encouraged and an annual appraisal system is in place to discuss ongoing objectives and support revalidation.
