About The Role

Prisons are one of the most challenging, yet rewarding places for healthcare professionals to work. If you want a role where you can develop your existing skills and learn something new every day in an environment that never stands still, then this is it!

Practice Plus Group are Health in Justice Market leader, providing healthcare services to offenders across the country. Our model of care is our Wellbeing Approach – an integrated, comprehensive approach in recognition of the fact prisoners are a socially-excluded group with healthcare needs which are complex and often associated with poor outcomes. It adopts the premise no single health/wellbeing factor can be taken in isolation of other motivational issues which might impact a person’s care.

Working within a high secure environment can be challenging yet rewarding, interesting and stimulating.

This role requires someone who is open to challenge, has the ability to manage a varied caseload, working in a collaborative way with other Healthcare colleagues to gain the best outcomes for the Patients.

You will need to remain calm with difficult and sometimes hostile patients, be flexible within a restrictive Prison Regime, and be comfortable working in a complex environment.

About You

You will be a Registered Nurse (RGN) looking to develop your current skills in a unique and ever changing environment.

You will have a passion for learning and development, as well as having the initiative to bring new ideas and opinions on how to improve the healthcare services. Prison Healthcare experience is not essential although we do ask that you have experience within primary care.

This is a full time role however part time applicants will be considered, working 37.5 hours per week with the shift pattern to include weekend and night shifts. The salary for this vacancy is up to £40,973 per annum - depending on experience.
