About The Role

As the Substance Misuse Team Leader and a member of the wider management team, you will be responsible for providing the day-to-day clinical and operational management of the mental health team across an integrated healthcare service, contributing to the strategic direction of the service. You will support your team to carry out comprehensive assessments, confidently communicating treatment options, and initiating supportive care plans, working with individuals on a 1-2-1 basis alongside the wider multi-disciplinary team.

There will be an expectation for the post holder to lead/contribute to clinical and consumer audits. You'll be responsible to the Head of Healthcare, to ensure the management of the service meets its contractual obligations.

This includes ensuring all operational and clinical data requirements on the Key Performance Indicators (KPI’s) are submitted within agreed deadlines and that KPI data is utilised to manage the performance of the team.

About You

You will be a qualified nurse with registration on the NMC in either RGN (Adult) or RMN (Mental Health). As a Substance Misuse Team Leader, you’ll be an integral part of the healthcare team by bringing your top-notch skills, passion for care, and leadership to the role.

This is a leadership role and with your team leaders, you will model a culture of compassion, courage, and competence. The role will include providing challenge, support, and mentorship at the point of delivery, drawing the best from our staff, and improving the quality of care for our services. If you are self-motivated and able to work autonomously as well as showing plenty of initiative when it comes to handling a wide range of situations, then this could be the right role for you!

We want our team members to feel motivated and rewarded. We offer a salary of up to £50,549 per annum on a full time basis and our other benefits include free DBS check, free uniform, indemnity cover, CPD and study days, 25 days annual leave, rising to 28 days with service, plus 8 public bank holidays, opportunity to join our pension scheme as well as a cycle to work scheme and shopping discounts.

We are committed to CPD for our clinicians; we also offer regional and national development opportunities as well as access to our bespoke Learning Management system.

About Us

Prisons are one of the most challenging, yet rewarding places for healthcare professionals to work - if you’re looking for a role where you can develop your existing skills and learn something new every day, then this is the place to be.

We are the Health in Justice Market leader, providing healthcare services to prisoners across the country. Our model of care is our Wellbeing Approach – an integrated, comprehensive approach in recognition of the fact prisoners are a socially-excluded group with healthcare needs which are complex and often associated with poor outcomes. It adopts the premise no single health/well being factor can be taken in isolation of other motivational issues which might impact a person’s care

We are passionate about what we do and our core values are:

We treat patients and each other as we would like to be treated
We act with integrity
We embrace diversity
We strive to do things better together.

If this resonates with you then we’d like to hear from you!

Healthcare operates 7 days a week therefore you will be required to work weekends.

Please note that offers of employment are subject to Practice Plus Group Terms & Conditions and receipt of satisfactory references, an enhanced DBS check and prison vetting.

At Practice Plus Group we actively promote diversity and equal opportunities and we are committed to this in both the running of our prison healthcare service and how we recruit our staff. We actively encourage applications from everyone with the essential requirements of the job, regardless of any protected characteristics.
