About The Role

As a Pharmacy Technician in the Medicines Management team, you will assist with the provision and delivery of an integrated, safe, legal, high-quality prison pharmaceutical service, taking into consideration, at all times, the need to maintain a high level of security.

You will be required to work within the healthcare department and hold direct patient contact, which will be part be of a comprehensive healthcare package, based on the prison service’s needs. Within this role, you will be an integral member of the Medicines Management team, which forms part of the wider cluster of Healthcare Services. Practice Plus Group policies and procedures and statutory frameworks governing patient care in a prison setting, will be used in order to deliver the highest standard of care to clients in line with National Guidelines.

This is a permanent role working 37.5 hours per week with day shifts and no nights! Pharmacy provision is provided seven days a week, including public holidays.
Shifts can vary between 07:30 to 17:30, with possibility of early start/early finish or late start/late finish.

About You

You will hold NVQ Level 3, BTEC or equivalent qualifications and must have a current registration with the General Pharmaceutical Council (GPhC) to be considered for this role. You will also have relevant post-qualification experience working within a multi-disciplinary team.

HMP Bullingdon is a category B local remand prison with a resettlement function. We have high numbers of men moving in and out of Reception from courts and from other prisons. The men within the prison have a wide range of healthcare requirements and needs. Ranging from emergency, acute problems to maintenance and management of long term chronic health issues. This can and often does include mental health and substance misuse. There is a focus on health promotion, screening and vaccinations.
