We are seeking a Senior Mental Health Practitioner to join our expanding team HMP Isle of Wight; a Category B Men's training Prison and holds up to approximately 1100 prisoners across two sites with a central administration team.
As a registered health care professional (Mental Health Nurse / Occupational Therapist / Social Worker) you will work in a dual role with nursing colleagues and maintain your own professional identity.
The post holder will provide strong clinical leadership, ensuring evidence-based practice is delivered to shape and improve the quality of services. The post holder will be responsible for establishing operational and clinical service mechanisms that support safe high-quality care throughout the service care delivery.
As a member of the Integrated Mental Health Team (IMHT), you will provide flexible, responsive, proactive assessment, care, and management to individuals experiencing early signs of relapse, new acute phase mental illness, distress, or posing a risk in terms of self-harm. All interventions will be short-term; solution-focused and will build on maintaining the safety, wellbeing, and empowerment of the service user. The IMHT implements a Single Point of Access (SPA) and an Integrated Mental Health Team structure which provides individualised care as defined by the stepped care model and crisis resolution provision.

Receive an annual salary of up to £37,500 per annum depending on experience. 25 days annual leave – increasing with service up to 28 days + 8 public holidays and a contributory pension scheme 2-5%.
