We are currently seeking a Substance Misuse Practitioner to join our expanding Healthcare Team at HMP Lewes; a category B men’s prison located approximately 25 minutes from Brighton and Hove.
As a Substance Misuse Practitioner, you must be able to carry out comprehensive assessments, initiate and review individual recovery plans and confidently communicate the full range of treatment options available to service users. You must have an understanding and commitment to recovery and a person centred approach. Across everything you do, you’ll maintain accurate records and provide the kind of helpful, empathetic support that will make every patient feel at ease.
 
In return for your hard work you will receive
A salary for this role is up to £26,000 per annum, 25 days annual leave – increasing with service up to 28 days + 8 public holidays and a contributory pension scheme 2-5%. As well as CPD, free online and face-to-face training, cycle to work scheme, childcare vouchers, and online discounts.

About You

We are seeking individuals from a range of backgrounds and these may include but are not limited to the following DANOS recognised qualification and/or substantial knowledge and experience of Substance Misuse. With the ability to work autonomously; with sound clinical/substance misuse knowledge. We’ll want to see evidence of your continued professional development, and a real passion for taking your skills even further.

It goes without saying that you’ll have a solid understanding of health and safety, along with exemplary record keeping skills. Self-motivated, you’ll show plenty of initiative when it comes to handling a wide range of situations. Beyond that, you should have a flexible approach and the ability to achieve changing priorities.

The shift pattern for the role are either 07:15 - 15:15, or 08:00 - 16:00 (Mon - Fri) and 07:00 - 13:00 (weekends) on a rotational basis.
