About The Role

Are you looking for a different and varied clinical experience?

We are seeking bank registered nursing staff to work across our secured environments within South Central. This role offers a variety of custodial settings, great for those looking to expand their portfolio.

Our South Central Health in justice region consists of five sites, all very unique in terms of function as well as geographically.
We currently have vacancies for Bank Nurses at:

Gatwick IRC, an immigration removal centre located at Gatwick airport, Surrey, supporting individuals who await deportation, as well as small number of short term residents newly arrived in the UK.
HMP Isle of Wight, a category B training prison for men
HMP Lewes, a Category B remand prison in Lewes, near to Brighton, and
HMP Winchester, also a category B remand prison located in Winchester, Hampshire.

Would you have an interest in working at one or more of these locations?
Working as a Bank Registered Nurse offers you flexibility and workplace variety. You would also be assisting the wider permanent team, covering for planned and unplanned absences.
Permanent salaried roles also available.

As a Registered Nurse you’ll be an integral part of the healthcare team by bringing you clinical skills and passion for care. You could be involved in anything from developing and leading clinics, undertaking examinations and tests as well as answering emergency bells and potentially being the first person to attend an emergency.

About You

You will be a qualified Registered Nurse (Adult/Mental Health) with a real passion for developing your clinical skills in an environment that is ever-changing.
If you are self-motivated and able to work autonomously as well as showing plenty of initiative when it comes to handling a wide range of situations, then this could be the right role for you!

In return for your hard work you will receive...

The rate for the role is up to £25 per hour dependant on location.
At Practice Plus Group, we are proud to support our employees with continued professional development opportunities and further education (subject to service needs). Staff are encouraged to develop skills and learning to contribute to the dynamic care needs of our specific client groups. Other benefits include a cycle to work scheme and on-site gym facilities at some locations.

About Us

Please note that this role is subject to Practice Plus Group Terms & Conditions and offers of employment are subject to right to work in the UK, references, an enhanced DBS check, and prison vetting

Prisons are one of the most challenging, yet rewarding places for healthcare professionals to work. If you are a qualified nurse, or soon to qualify, and want a role where you can develop your existing skills and learn something new every day in an environment that never stands still, then this is it!

Practice Plus Group are Health in Justice Market leader, providing healthcare services to offenders across the country. Our model of care is our Wellbeing Approach – an integrated, comprehensive approach in recognition of the fact prisoners are a socially-excluded group with healthcare needs which are complex and often associated with poor outcomes. It adopts the premise no single health/wellbeing factor can be taken in isolation of other motivational issues which might impact a person’s care.

At Practice Plus Group we actively promote diversity and equal opportunities and we are committed to this in both the running of our prison healthcare service and how we recruit our staff. We actively encourage applications from everyone with the essential requirements of the job, regardless of any protected characteristics.
