About The Role

At Practice Plus Group Ophthalmology, we lead the healthcare market in the provision of Wet AMD services; running innovative, accessible, community-based services from our well established centre of operations in the North West of England.

In 2017, we were the first community-based ophthalmology service to receive an ‘Outstanding’ rating from the CQC- something we remain incredibly proud of.

An exciting opportunity has arisen to lead our multi-disciplinary medical team.

As the Medical Director of the ophthalmology service, you will be a key member of the senior management team and will provide medical leadership delivering safe, efficient and reliable patient care. Responsible to the Service Director and reporting to the Medical Director for Secondary Care, you will be a key contributor to the development and implementation of our main objectives to deliver services that promote optimum, high quality patient care, promote a progressive and inclusive culture and ensure effective use of resources.

You will be an experienced, working Consultant Ophthalmologist with specialist GMC registration, senior management experience gained within the NHS or private sector and will ideally have demonstrable experience of effective leadership of medical staff. Proven success in business planning as part of a quality focused and innovative team would also be an advantage.

There will also be a need for the successful candidate to provide ‘hands-on’ consultant input into both our outpatient and theatre operations, as part of our broad-based consultant team.
