About The Role

At Practice Plus Group, we are passionate about creating an exceptional experience for our patients, in modern, clean and comfortable surroundings. We are driven by innovation and proudly deliver through expert colleagues working together as a team. If this sounds like the sort of place you would like to work then we want to hear from you.

We are looking for an apprentice radiographer to join our team at our hospital in Shepton Mallet which has been rated outstanding by the CQC*, putting it at the very top of the regulator’s quality ratings.

As part of the Radiology team, led by our experienced Diagnostic Imaging Manager, James, you will work as a trainee radiographer under the Diagnostic Radiographer Apprenticeship programme at the University of West England (UWE). This is a three year university led programme, supported by extensive workplace learning and practice which will allow you to become a HCPC registered diagnostic radiographer. You will be workplace based for four days a week (30 hours) and one day per week will be protected study time, either locally or at the university.

Working under the supervision of a registered practitioner you will fulfil all tasks and work as part of a team responsible for providing an efficient imaging service. This will include taking part in the extended working week and working weekends if required.

About You

To qualify for the programme, you will need level 3 qualifications or equivalent to meet the university entry requirements which will include a science subject. Previous experience of working in a radiology department would be advantageous but not essential. Just as important however will be you commitment to learning, your ability to be empathetic and demonstrate patient focus and your flexibility e.g. working in a range of clinical settings and shift patterns.

If you want to move up the ladder, we’ll support you. If you just want to stay in your role, that’s fine too. We’ll help you be the best you can be.

We want our team members to feel motivated and rewarded. So we offer a competitive package of pay and benefits. We also recognise the value of a healthy work-life balance – so we always try to be flexible, helping you fit your working life around your home life.

Our employment offers are subject to receipt of satisfactory pre-employment checks. At Practice Plus Group, we actively promote diversity and equal opportunities. Applicants must have the right to work in the UK.

*Rated 'Outstanding' when the hospital was known as Shepton Mallet Health Partnership run by Care UK (Shepton Mallet) Limited. We're the same people providing the same services, just with a new name.
