About The Role

We are looking for an experienced and dynamic healthcare manager to lead on the delivery of healthcare in HMP Ford. HMP Ford is a Category D prison, also known as a resettlement or open prison, for adult men near Arundel in West Sussex This role presents an exciting opportunity to develop as a healthcare leader within a unique setting.

As the Head of Healthcare you will be responsible for the pro-active general management of the healthcare establishment, maintaining the strategic direction and delivering the agreed contractual requirements and targets and managing the unit within its financial framework. Maintaining agreed standards of service, and leading, motivating and developing staff. This role also includes responsibility for all aspects of personnel, financial reporting, IM&T and general management of the healthcare establishment and being the CQC Registered Manager.

The successful candidate will work as part of the South Central cluster of Health in Justice providers working in partnership with senior colleagues in other prisons to help to ensure quality and consistency within the cluster as well as representing the HMP Ford healthcare department in strategic discussions on the direction and delivery of future services.
 
Practice Plus Group operates an integrated team approach working in partnership with HMPPS staff and colleagues to implement the most effective way of providing high-quality healthcare services to our patients in a way that can be considered equivalent to those services delivered in the community.

You will be able to provide evidence of your strong and compassionate leadership ability and have undertaken management training. With experience of working within governance frameworks and of effectively managing teams including HR processes. Successfully working with HMPPS colleagues and a range of other external agencies will also be a critical part of the role.

The successful candidate will have an innovative and adaptable approach to service design and delivery. Well-developed problem-solving skills that acknowledges and respects multi-agency working will be vital if services are to continue to meet the needs of patients in a challenging custody setting.

Salary and Benefits

The salary for this role is up to £50,000 per annum depending on experience + 10% Performance Related Bonus + £4,000 Car Allowance.
