The main focus of the work will be to provide a dispensary and wing-based clinical pharmacy service; providing medicines management support to a number of different wings.

You'll be responsible for the provision and delivery of an integrated, safe, legal, high-quality prison pharmaceutical service. Working closely with the Head of Healthcare and the multidisciplinary team, you'll be responsible for ensuring that the provision of service meets the contractual obligations.

The role also involves responsibility for providing daily expert advice on pharmaceutical matters and ensuring that a safe but modern medicines management service is provided to prisoners.

Receive an annual salary of up to £50,000 - dependent on experience. About You

You will be a qualified Registered Pharmacist- BSc or Master’s Degree in Pharmacy, holding registration with the General Pharmaceutical Council. You will have a real passion for developing your Pharmaceutical skills and those of your team. You’ll have a flexible approach to working within a team that encourages new ideas.

If you are self-motivated and able to work autonomously as well as showing plenty of initiative when it comes to handling a wide range of situations, then this could be the right role for you!

Experience of working in a secure environment would be beneficial but not essential.

HMP Winchester is a Category B men’s prison for those on remand to local courts. With an operational capacity of 690, HMP Winchester is based in Winchester, Hampshire; by car, it’s approximately 20 minutes from Eastleigh, 25 minutes from Southampton, 30 minutes of Andover, Basingstoke, and Newbury, and 45 minutes from Salisbury. On foot, it’s a 20-minute walk from Winchester town centre and 15 minutes walk from Winchester train station.

This is a full-time role working 37.5 hours per week. The salary for this role is up to £50,000 FTE - dependent on experience.
