About The Role

I treat more than just symptoms!

Are you collaborative, caring and compassionate?

Prisons are one of the most challenging, yet rewarding places for healthcare professionals to work - if you’re looking for a role where you can develop your existing skills and learn something new every day, then this is the place to be.

Nursing in prison is never dull or predictable. On any given day the skills you use may be similar to those you need working in health promotion or A&E and primarily be supporting people to manage their mental health or substance misuse including the delivery of group interventions. It’s this variety that keeps things fresh and stimulating. Every day will bring new challenges and new experiences. But at the same time, you’ll have all the support you need to deliver the best care possible.

HMP Lindholme is a Category C/D men's prison located near Hatfield Woodhouse in Doncaster and is a former RAF base offering a large open site. They have a hardworking, supportive and friendly team that encourage career progression and further education opportunities.

The team consists of primary care, mental health, substance misuse, pharmacy and administration services who all work closely together to provide a holistic approach to patient care. Shift patterns typically run between 07.30 and 19.30

The site offer free onsite parking, free access to an onsite gym and onsite staff diner.

About You

As a Mental Health Nurse at HMP Lindoholme, you will provide a holistic package of care to patients within the prison system, working with the team ensuring the delivery of high quality, individualised, evidence based patient centred nursing care. About Us

We’re the UK’s leading independent provider of healthcare services in prisons and youth offender establishments.

We believe in putting the patient first, regardless of the environment or their history. That’s why we’re proud to deliver quality healthcare in some of the most challenging environments; care that is equal to what you receive in the community. We’re passionate about making a difference in the lives of prisoners by improving their health, securing their wellbeing, and helping to reduce reoffending behaviour.

We deliver round-the-clock healthcare to more than 40,000 patients at over 45 prisons of all categories. Prisons are a community like any other and we offer all of the health services any community needs in one place and with a single team. These range from reception health checks on arrival and regular GP services, to help with substance misuse, mental health, chronic or long-term conditions, podiatry, physiotherapy, and optometry.

Please note that this role is subject to Practice Plus Group Terms & Conditions and offers of employment are subject to right to work in the UK, references, an enhanced DBS check and prison vetting.
