You'll be responsible for the provision and delivery of an integrated, safe, legal, high quality prison pharmaceutical service. Working closely with the Head of Healthcare and the multidisciplinary team, you'll be responsible for ensuring that the provision of service meets the contractual obligations. The role also involves responsibility for providing daily expert advice on pharmaceutical matters and ensuring that a safe but modern medicines management service is provided to prisoners. You will be responsible for leading a team of Pharmacy technicians and be required to deliver some wing-based clinics.

In return for your hard work you will..
Receive an annual salary of up to £34,000 per annum DOE. You'll also get a number of benefits including a company contributory pension scheme, 25 days annual - increasing with service up to 28 days per year + bank holidays, CPD, and re-validation support.
Other benefits include cycle to work scheme, plus training and clinical development opportunities.

About You

You will be a qualified Registered Pharmacist- BSc or Master’s Degree in Pharmacy, holding registration with the General Pharmaceutical Council. You will have a real passion for developing your Pharmaceutical skills and those of your team. You’ll have a flexible approach to working within a team that encourages new ideas.

Experience of working in a secure environment would be beneficial but not essential.

HMP Lewes is a local category B men’s prison for those on remand to local courts as well as those who have been sentenced and those awaiting release. With an operational capacity of 692, HMP Lewes is based in Lewes in East Sussex, within the South Downs National Park. It’s approximately 25 minutes from Brighton and Hove, 35 minutes from Eastbourne and Worthing by car.
