As a Deputy Head of Healthcare with Practice Plus Group you will deputise for the Head of Healthcare in all aspects of their role.

You will be responsible in partnership with the Head of Healthcare for the effective day-to-day operational management of all clinical services across the prisons. As well as support the management of all service level agreements, ensuring performance-monitoring standards are adhered to and the highest standards of care are maintained. The post holder will deputise for the Head of Healthcare in their absence and support them across the range of their duties.

Practice Plus Group operate as an integrated team approach to peer support and standardisation of practice. The main aim as the healthcare provider within Health in Justice is to work in partnership with discipline staff and colleagues to enable the offering of high quality healthcare services to best support the residents that are equivalent to those delivered in the community

As a member of the wider management team, you will be responsible for providing the day to day clinical and operational management of our diverse healthcare teams within National and Local Guidance.

About You

You will be able to provide evidence of your leadership ability and will have undertaken management training, with an understanding of clinical governance and staff management. You will have an awareness of risk assessment and managing budgets.

You will be a registered adult nurse with a valid NMC (adult) and evidence of CPD in the field of adult nursing. 

The role would ideally suit an individual who is passionate about delivering and driving forward high standards of care and service delivery.

Ability to promote and inspire the workforce though robust clinical supervision and professional development

HMP Lewes is a local category B men’s prison for those on remand to local courts as well as those who have been sentenced and those awaiting release. With an operational capacity of 692, HMP Lewes is based in Lewes in East Sussex, within the South Downs National Park. It’s approximately 25 minutes from Brighton and Hove, 35 minutes from Eastbourne and Worthing by car.

This is a full-time role working 37.5 hours per week.
