Pharmacy Technician in the Medicines Management team, you will assist with the provision and delivery of an integrated, safe, legal, high-quality prison pharmaceutical service, taking into consideration, at all times, the need to maintain a high level of security.
As a Pharmacy Technician, you will be required to support the delivery of Pharmacy Services which will be part be of a comprehensive healthcare package, based on the prison service’s needs. Working on the prison wings, you can expect to be involved in everything from medicine management, dispense medications, screening drug charts, patient counselling etc.
You may be required to accept certain activities in relation to the day to day operational management of their unit and as such must ensure that they are trained and competent to take on these additional responsibilities.
Within this role, you will be an integral member of the Medicines Management team, which forms part of the wider cluster of Healthcare Services. Practice Plus Group policies and procedures and statutory frameworks governing patient care in a prison setting, will be used in order to deliver the highest standard of care to clients in line with National Guidelines.
HMP Wealstun is a Category C men's prison, located near the village of Thorp Arch in West Yorkshire. Which is based 30 minute from Leeds, and 5 minutes from the A1 just off Boston Spa.
Working shift patterns cover a variety of hours between 7am – 7:30pm. The site currently has departments for Mental Health, Substance misuse, Primary care and admin.
Training and support is offered for all staff, there is also and onsite gym accessible and free to staff as well as free parking on site.
