About The Role

As a Senior Substance Misuse Nurse, you will provide a holistic package of care to patients within the prison system, working with the team to develop and maintain delivery of high quality, individualised, evidence based patient centred nursing care.

You’ll manage the assessment of health needs, planning, delivery and evaluation of care for the prison population, including clinical risk assessment.

About You

You will be a Registered Nurse (RMN / RGN) looking to develop your current skills in a unique and ever changing environment.

You will have a passion for learning and development, as well as having the initiative to bring new ideas and opinions on how to improve the healthcare services. Prison Healthcare experience is not essential although we do ask that you have experience within primary care.
 
You will have a flexible approach working within a team that encourage new ideas and opinions on how to improve the service.
 
You should possess a good working knowledge of conducting risk assessments and care planning as well as someone who is creative and forward thinking to work through the issues that may arise in this challenging but exciting environment. Knowledge in therapeutic interventions such as CBT or Steps to Wellbeing are desirable but transferable clinical skills will be considered with appropriate training provided.
 
You'll be responsible for leading and developing a team providing clinical supervision to all staff.

From 1st April 2022, it will be a legal requirement for all healthcare workers who have direct face to face contact with patients to be vaccinated with an approved COVID19 vaccine. This includes front-line workers, as well as non-clinical workers not directly involved in patient care but who nevertheless may have incidental and/or intermittent direct, face to-face contact with patients. As part of our recruitment to this role, evidence of vaccination, or clinical exemption will be required.
