About The Role

Are you looking for a new challenge?

Due to our expanding healthcare services at HMP Lewes we are looking for proactive and collaborative Senior Mental Health Nurses to join our team.
This is an opportunity to use all of your clinical and interpersonal skills, an opportunity to develop new abilities, and to work with a unique population group that would benefit from what you can bring to the team. If you would like to know more before applying, please feel free to arrange an appointment for one of the team to show you around the prison and see for yourself what working here is like.
As a Registered Nurse (RMN) you will be an integral part of the healthcare team and will be involved in everything from clinical triage to the evaluation of patient care and standards. You’ll carry out – and potentially develop – nurse-led clinics, reviewing patient’s histories, undertaking relevant examinations and tests, organising any necessary treatment, and referring patients to other healthcare professionals when you need to.

What we can offer you?
• Receive a salary of up to £37,000 per annum FTE - dependent on experience.
• Free DBS check, free uniform, free mandatory training, indemnity cover, CPD, and re-validation support.
• 25 days annual leave, increasing with service up to 28 days per year + bank holiday, other benefits including cycle to work scheme and clinical development opportunities.
• Onsite benefits at HMP Lewes include access to an onsite gym, free parking, and subsidised café/restaurant.

Interested in clinical development?
At Practice Plus Group we are proud to support our employees with continued professional development opportunities and further education (subject to service needs). You could develop into a specialist role of your interest, such as Advanced Nurse Practitioner or Advanced Clinical Practice. Other training opportunities include cognitive behavioral therapy, personality disorder, self-harm training and long-term condition, to name but a few.

About You

You will have a real passion for developing your clinical skills in an environment that is ever-changing. If you are self-motivated and able to work autonomously as well as showing plenty of initiative when it comes to handling a wide range of situations, then this could be the right role for you!

You should possess a good working knowledge of conducting risk assessments and care planning as well as someone who is creative and forward-thinking to work through the issues that may arise in this challenging but exciting environment. Knowledge in therapeutic interventions such as CBT or Steps to Wellbeing is desirable but transferable clinical skills will be considered with appropriate training provided.
