About The Role

As a Primary Care Nurse, you will be an integral part of the healthcare team and will be involved in everything from clinical triage to the evaluation of patient care and standards. You will carry out and develop nurse-led clinics, reviewing patient’s histories, undertaking relevant examinations and tests, organising any necessary treatment, and referring patients to other healthcare professionals when you need to.

You will also be working as part of a larger multi-disciplinary team, alongside the substance misuse and mental health teams. There are great opportunities for training and development and the opportunity to work with interesting patients and learn new skills.
 
 
In return for your hard work you will...
Receive an annual salary of up to £34,669 - dependent on experience as well as an annual travel allowance of £780 pro-rated, paid in monthly instalments.
Other benefits include a company contributory pension scheme, 25 days annual leave, increasing with service up to 28 days per year + bank holidays, plus CPD, and re-validation support, and a cycle to work scheme. At HMP Exeter we deliver a 24/7 service although working hours do vary to provide overall support.
The working hours consist of:
Day – 07:30 - 17:30
Late – 13:15 - 21:15
Early – 07:30 - 15:30
Night – 21:00 – 07:45

This role include will include some night shift work.
 
This is a full-time, permanent role working 37.5 hours per week and we also welcome part-time and bank applications.

About You

 
You will be a qualified Registered Nurse (Adult) with a real passion for developing your clinical skills in an environment that is ever-changing. If you are self-motivated and able to work autonomously as well as showing plenty of initiative when it comes to handling a wide range of situations, then this could be the right role for you!
You should possess a good working knowledge of conducting risk assessments and care planning as well as someone who is creative and forward-thinking to work through the issues that may arise in this challenging but exciting environment. Knowledge in therapeutic interventions such as CBT or Steps to Wellbeing is desirable but transferable clinical skills will be considered with appropriate training provided.
