About The Role

Have you thought about working within prison healthcare?

Prisons are one of the most challenging, yet rewarding places for healthcare professionals to work. If you want a role where you can develop your existing skills and learn something new every day in an environment that never stands still, then this is it!

As the EDiC Clinical Coordinator you will work in a multi-disciplinary team for Early Days. You will coordinate the identification, referral and assessment of care for men within the first 14 days of custody. Supervising nurses to complete reception screens, assessments and providing care interventions such as BBV testing and vaccinations.

You will be a care coordinator for a case load of patients and will need to ensure that they have received the care they need within those first 14 days before being handed over to the planned care team. You will support in chairing EDiC referral meetings and establishing care plans for all new arrivals into the prison.

About You

You will be a Registered Nurse (RGN) looking to develop your current skills in a unique and ever changing environment. You will have a passion for learning and development, as well as having the initiative to bring new ideas and opinions on how to improve the healthcare services. Prison Healthcare experience is not essential although we do ask that you have experience within primary care.

Interested in clinical development?

We offer opportunities to develop in to a specialist role of your interest which in turn benefits the service. Examples include ANP, BBV, sexual health, ILS (intermediate life support), health promotion, phlebotomy, vaccinations, suturing, wound care, RCGP, and long term condition courses.

How will we support you?

• Bespoke induction
• Competency framework
• Regional and national career development opportunities
• Our bespoke Learning Management System to address your learning needs
• Support from the wider team

You’ll receive an annual salary up to £48,000 per annum - depending on experience. We offer a whole host of additional benefits such as: cycle to work scheme, free DBS check, free uniform, an extensive training and development structure for all employees along with an employee recognition scheme.

It doesn’t stop there… we also offer a company pension scheme which we as Practice Plus Group also pay into, 25 days annual leave increasing with service up to 28 days per year, plus 8 public bank holidays (pro-rata for part-time), NHS blue light card, discounted Costco memberships, access to Boundless memberships for attractions and parks, shopping discounts, free eye tests for computer screen users, an 24/7 employee assistance helpline and financial assistance when you need it.
