About The Role

To provide healthcare to the men housed within HMP Bullingdon. To promote health and well-being within the prisoner population, As the Inpatients Lead at HMP Bullingdon you will be innovative, bringing fresh ideas and solutions to the challenges of proving healthcare in a prison that is also changing its focus to a remand and resettlement prison; you will see men at beginning and end of their time in prisons, both are times of transition in the community and require a coordinated approach to continuity of care with other services. PPG and HMP Bullingdon are constantly striving to improve the care we offer within the prison service, the role will involve working closely with external stakeholders to develop pathways, that prevent men having to attend outside hospital including but not exclusively end of life care and acute care.

This includes ensuring all operational and clinical data requirements on the Key Performance Indicators (KPI’s) are submitted within agreed deadlines and that KPI data is utilised to manage the performance of the team.

 

About You

As a Registered Nurse, you’ll be an integral part of the healthcare team by bringing your top-notch skills, passion for care, and leadership to the role.

About Us

Practice Plus Group is a specialist provider of NHS services into prison healthcare across over 45 different prisons, young offenders and immigration removal centres. The prison population is one of the most vulnerable and challenged patient groups in society and the delivery of their health care is conducted within often difficult and demanding environments.

HMP Bullingdon operates as a local prison holding both remanded and sentenced prisoners. MP Bullingdon also accommodates young adults between the ages of 18-21.Opened in 1992 it is a ‘new gallery’ design prison with four main house blocks divided into three galleried units. A fifth house block was added in 1998 and sixth in 2008 – both are two galleried units. MP Bullingdon has a dedicated healthcare unit, specialising in supporting men with complex medical requirements, mental health problems and primary care needs.
