About The Role

Practice Plus Group Hospital, Shepton Mallet has an exciting opportunity for a Specialist Clinical Pharmacist to be part of a vibrant and dynamic team within a newly refurbished hospital pharmacy.

Our hospital is situated in Shepton Mallet, Somerset. It opened over 15 years ago and has since built up a great reputation receiving an outstanding rating from the CQC. We treat over 14,000 patients a year, with excellent outcomes. You can be sure that you are part of a team providing safe, reliable and patient focused care for NHS and self-pay patients. Our facilities are excellent, and the hospital is staffed by a valued team of highly skilled professionals. We have 4 Theatre suites, as well as several treatment rooms. Our inpatients comfortably recover on our 24 beds ward where the Pharmacy team is involved in supplying medication and clinical support to the Multi-Disciplinary Team.

The post holder will play a key role within the pharmacy team delivering services across a variety of elective specialities such as Orthopaedics, ENT, Urology, Gyne, Ophthalmology, and Endoscopy. They will assist in the provision and development of leading clinical pharmacy services for outpatients departments, recovery, inpatient ward/s and operating theatres.

We are looking for a Specialist Clinical Pharmacist ideally with recent hospital experience. A supportive learning plan and environment will be provided for candidates with limited experience who wanted to establish advanced clinical pharmacy career, and our national pharmacy teams and our chief pharmacist will be available in supporting you to move into the organisation and advise you on our pathways and standards.

About You

You will be an experienced GPhC registered Pharmacist with the ability to provide an exemplary pharmacy service, clinical ward and dispensary cover, and advice and support to medical and clinical colleagues to ensure safe, appropriate and cost effective use of medicines.
