About The Role

Are you looking for a new challenge?

We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced and commercially astute HR Business Partner to join our HR team, on a 12-month fixed term contract, looking after our Health in Justice services in the East Midlands area.

As a HR Business Partner working with our services in the East Midlands, you will work in close partnership with our Regional Manager, regional and local teams to manage change, drive higher levels of retention, build engagement and take forward service improvements. You will lead the development and implementation of our People Plan, whilst managing national and regional projects emanating from this.

This is a regional role and your base will be at home but you will be required to travel frequently to our prison healthcare sites in East Midlands (these are currently HMP Five Wells, HMP Stocken, HMP Whatton, HMP Foston Hall and HMP Sudbury), as well as occasional travel to our head office in Reading or London as required.

As part of your role, you will:

- Position the role of HRBP as an integral part of the regional management team by developing effective working relationships, influencing change and addressing constructive challenges.

- Ensure management capabilities within the region are developed to meet required standards, lead the analysis of management capability and succession planning;

- Equip managers with appropriate tools and knowledge to effectively manage their teams; act as the change advocate encouraging buy-in with approaches to increase management capability and utilise services delivered via the HR helpline;

- Lead the development and implementation of a regional People Plan to support our People strategy of: Get, Grow, Keep and support services to develop local People Plans.

- Provide expert advice and guidance in support of transformational change, restructures, TUPE and redundancy; ensure commercially-focussed approach to improve cost and efficiency. You will also support and maintain oversight of all employee relations activity within your regions, to ensure employee relations are effectively managed and supported, with conclusion of cases within reasonable timescales.

- Work in partnership with the Resourcing team to ensure all vacancies within the relevant services are filled effectively with regards to time to hire and financial planning as well as contributing to the management of operational recruitment within the units.

About You

You will have excellent communication skills, a can-do attitude and be able to work to deadlines under pressure. You will have experience of working with HR systems and administrative processes and be a champion of continuous improvement in process. You will have experience of working in a highly regulated industry, managing people and solid HR operational/transactional knowledge. While a CIPD qualification is not essential it would be advantageous as would experience in a healthcare organisation.

This is a part time role, working 30 hours per week across 4 days which can be tailored to suit you. This is a flexible home-based role, with frequent travel across the services within the East Midlands and Practice Plus Group offices as required (Reading).

The salary for this role will be up to £50,000 per annum (pro-rata), dependent on experience plus car allowance, private healthcare and a discretionary bonus. We offer 25 days annual leave, rising to 28 days with service + bank holidays and a range of non- contractual benefits.
