About The Role

Have you thought about working within prison healthcare?
Prisons are one of the most challenging, yet rewarding places for healthcare professionals to work - if you’re looking for a role where you can develop your existing skills and learn something new every day in an environment that never stands still, then this is it!

As an Advanced Clinical Practitioner with independent prescribing, you'll deliver face-to-face services, enabling patients to obtain health information from the appropriate health care professional. You will be providing safe and effective health assessments and treatment of patients within the establishment. Practicing within your sphere of competence and agreed acceptable limits of practice, you'll assess patients, and order and interpret investigations, diagnose and treat patients who wish to be seen by an Advanced Clinical Practitioner.

About You

You will be a registered  healthcare professional and hold current registration with either NMC (nurses) or HCPC, (allied professionals).

Utilising your skills in managing patients within a primary care setting and dealing with physical health concerns, mental health issues and minor injuries, you'll be an integral member of the medical team, conducting clinics independently, completing administrative tasks (prescriptions, referrals, pathology results) and supporting or acting as the Duty Doctor and reception processes.

You’ll receive an annual salary up to £57,475 per annum - depending on experience. We offer a whole host of additional benefits such as: cycle to work scheme, free DBS check, free uniform, an extensive training and development structure for all employees along with an employee recognition scheme.

About Us

Practice Plus Group is a specialist provider of NHS services into prison healthcare across over 45 different prisons, young offenders and immigration removal centres. We believe in putting the patient first, regardless of the environment or their history. The prison population is one of the most vulnerable and challenged patient groups in society and the delivery of their health care is conducted within often difficult and demanding environments.

HMP Lewes is a category B men’s prison for those on remand to local courts, who have been sentenced and awaiting release.

Practice Plus Group’s mission is Access to Excellence. Our core values are;
we treat patients and each other as we would like to be treated
we act with integrity
we embrace diversity
we strive to do things better together

Patients can only access excellence if we commit to living our values in everything we do when we’re at work.

If you share these values and have transferable skills we want to meet you!
