An opportunity has arisen for the right candidate to be part of continuing developments in healthcare provision within HMP Exeter.

The Porter post is a varied role, undertaking a range of delegated portering duties, including unloading, delivery of stock, and any other general tasks required across Prison Healthcare Service at HMP Exeter
We are looking for individuals who are keen to take on roles with varied duties, supporting the delivery of excellent healthcare to prisoners. You will need to have excellent communication and interpersonal skills and demonstrate the ability to work as a team member. This vacancy is welcoming full time and bank applications, meaning you can decide the hours you work for you around your other commitments!
 
In return for your hard work you will...
 
Receive an annual salary of up to £18,500 dependent on experience. You'll also get a number of benefits including a company contributory pension scheme, 25 days annual leave plus 8 public bank holidays, cycle to work scheme, training, and development opportunities.

About You

We believe in putting the patient first, regardless of the environment or their history. The prison population is one of the most vulnerable and challenged patient groups in society and the delivery of their health care is conducted within often difficult and demanding environments.
 
The candidate will be expected to undertake tasks across a variety of areas within the prison. The role demands a vast amount of physical activity including walking and carrying of loads.

The successful applicant will join an enthusiastic and collaborative team looking after the overall health needs of a population of over 500 patientsIt is essential that candidates have a full driving license (with no outstanding endorsements).

HMP YOI Exeter is an adult/young offenders institution accepting males ages 18 and over; with an operational capacity of 550+. It accepts all adult and young offenders committed to prison by the courts from Cornwall, Devon, Dorset & West Somerset.
