About The Role

As a Healthcare/ Occupational Therapy Assistant, your responsibilities will vary. You will be involved in the implementation of clinical care packages, phlebotomy and assessment, treatment and the evaluation of patients’ care.

This is a duelled role post and the candidate will be expected to work under the direction of the Occupational Therapist (OT) and or Senior Nurses to provide short and long term treatment for patients within their care, with complex, severe and enduring needs, such as those who present with self-injuring, challenging and risk taking behaviour and social care needs. 
 
The OTA will work in partnership with prison staff and healthcare staff within the prison such as safer custody, security, mental health primary care and substance misuse, to provide a mixture of both group and one to one care.
Along side supporting the OT and helping to provide social care, you will also be supporting the registered nurses within clinics or as part of the emergency response team within the prison.

About You

The successful candidate will have the ability to communicate at all levels internally and externally.
 
They will also be able to work unsupervised while following policy and procedures and can establish good working relationships and work well as a team member.

They will be confident with Administration and delivery of medication within organisational guidelines or willing to undertake appropriate training.
