About Us

Prisons are one of the most challenging, yet rewarding places for healthcare professionals to work. If you are a qualified nurse or paramedic and want a role where you can develop your existing skills and learn something new every day in an environment that never stands still, then this is it!

We believe in putting the patient first, regardless of the environment or their history. The prison population is one of the most vulnerable and challenged patient groups in society and the delivery of their health care is conducted within often difficult and demanding environments. HMP Bullingdon is a category B local remand prison with a resettlement function. We have high numbers of men moving in and out of Reception from courts and from other prisons. The men within the prison have a wide range of healthcare requirements and needs. Ranging from emergency, acute problems to maintenance and management of long term chronic health issues. This can and often does include mental health and substance misuse.  There is a focus on health promotion, screening and vaccinations.

Practice Plus Group’s mission is Access to Excellence.  Our core values are;

  • we treat patients and each other as we would like to be treated,
  • we act with integrity
  • we embrace diversity
  • we strive to do things better together.
  • Patients can only access excellence if we commit to living our values in everything we do when we’re at work.

If you share these values and have transferable skills we want to meet you!

From 1st April 2022, it will be a legal requirement for all healthcare workers who have direct face to face contact with patients to be vaccinated with an approved COVID19 vaccine. This includes front-line workers, as well as non-clinical workers not directly involved in patient care but who nevertheless may have incidental and/or intermittent direct, face to-face contact with patients. As part of our recruitment to this role, evidence of vaccination, or clinical exemption will be required.
