About The Role

If you are looking for the next step as a Substance Misuse Healthcare Assistant and want to develop your clinical care package skills in an environment where no two days are the same then this could be the new job for you!

As a Substance Healthcare Assistant, your responsibilities will vary. Assisting the ISMS / Drug Recovery Service team, you will be involved in the implementation of clinical care packages, phlebotomy and assessment, treatment and the evaluation of patients’ care. You will support and assist patients with the activities of daily living, work with the Pharmacy Team to help them fulfil their daily tasks and you will be encouraged to take the lead on wellbeing promotion clinics.

The salary for this role is up to £24,271 per annum - dependent on experience.

About You

We are on the lookout for a Substance Misuse Healthcare Assistant who has experience of working within a Primary Care setting including GP surgeries, hospitals and have proven experience in clinical observations such as performing ECG, Phlebotomy.

You’ll hold an NVQ 2/3 in Health and Social Care and must have a willingness to undertake training in Mental Health Awareness, suicide prevention, self-harm and ACCT procedures, substance misuse awareness as well as Health Promotion and screening.
 

HMP YOI Exeter is an adult/young prisoners institution accepting males ages 18 and over; with an operational capacity of 550+. It accepts all adult and young prisoners committed to prison by the courts from Cornwall, Devon, Dorset & West Somerset.
