About The Role

Are you looking for a new challenge within a new service?

Prisons are one of the most challenging, yet rewarding places for healthcare professionals to work. If you are a qualified Nurse, or soon to qualify, and want a role where you can develop your existing skills and learn something new every day in an environment that never stands still, then this is it!

Practice Plus Group are a Health in Justice market-leader, providing healthcare services to offenders across the country. Our model of care is our Wellbeing Approach – an integrated, comprehensive approach in recognition of the fact that prisoners are a socially-excluded group with healthcare needs which are complex and often associated with poor outcomes. It adopts the premise that no single health/wellbeing factor can be taken in isolation of other motivational issues which might impact a person’s care.

HMP YOI Moorland is a category C men's prison and Young Offenders Institution based in Hatfield, South Yorkshire. The site offers a range of healthcare services including Physical Health Mental Health Pharmacy and Substance Misuse.

The 9-bed specialist Intermediate Care & Reablement Service is opening early 2022 based at HMP Moorland.

The post holder is responsible for provision of occupational therapy assessment, treatment and evaluation in conjunction with the Occupational Therapy Assistant within the service. This will include support to our bed-based intermediate care unit and assessment, advise and care planning following referral from prisons across Yorkshire and Humber and potential supported discharge from local hospitals.

You will provide visible and professional support to ensure the delivery of high quality patient care and rehabilitation.
