About The Role

Learn something new every day

Are you collaborative, caring and compassionate?
Prisons are one of the most challenging, yet rewarding places for healthcare professionals to work - if you’re looking for a role where you can develop your existing skills and learn something new every day, then this is the place to be.

As a Health and Wellbeing Support Worker, your responsibilities will vary. You will be involved in the implementation of clinical care packages, phlebotomy and assessment, treatment, and the evaluation of patients’ care.
You will support and assist patients with the activities of daily living, work with the Pharmacy Team to help them fulfil their daily tasks and you will be encouraged to take the lead on well-being promotion clinics.
You will support the registered nurse and operating department practitioner in implementing an agreed plan of care in association with the patient and in accordance with instructions and training received whilst promoting safe patient care and to be willing to develop and apply new skills to maintain and enhance clinical service delivery.
We are ideally looking for someone who has experience of working in a Health Care Support Worker role, or similar.

In return for your hard work you will...

Receive an annual salary of up to £22,068 - dependent on experience. You'll also get several benefits including a company contributory pension scheme, 25 days annual leave - increasing to 28 days with service +8 public bank holidays, cycle to work scheme, training, and clinical development opportunities.
Onsite benefits at HMP Guys Marsh include access to an onsite gym, free parking, and subsidised café/restaurant.

About Us

HMP Guys is an adult male category C prison holding life-sentenced and indeterminate sentenced public protection prisoners (IPPs) as well as those undertaking the integrated substance misuse services.

We’re the UK’s leading independent provider of healthcare services in both prisons and youth establishments.

We believe in putting the patient first, regardless of the environment or their history. That’s why we’re proud to deliver quality healthcare in some of the most challenging environments; care that is equal to what you receive in the community. We’re passionate about making a difference to the lives of prisoners by improving their health, securing their well being and helping to reduce re-offending behaviour.

We deliver round-the-clock healthcare to more than 40,000 patients at over 45 prisons of all categories. Prisons are a community like any other and we offer all of the health services any community needs in one place and with a single team. These range from reception health checks on arrival and regular GP services, to help with substance misuse, mental health, chronic or long-term conditions, podiatry, physiotherapy and optometry.

Please note that this role is subject to Practice Plus Group Terms & Conditions and offers of employment are subject to right to work in the UK, references, an enhanced DBS check, and prison vetting.

At Practice Plus Group we actively promote diversity and equal opportunities.
