About The Role

You'll be responsible for the provision and delivery of an integrated, safe, legal, high-quality prison pharmaceutical service. Working closely with the Head of Healthcare and the multidisciplinary team, you'll be responsible for ensuring that the provision of service meets the contractual obligations.

The role involves providing daily expert advice on pharmaceutical matters and ensuring that a safe but modern medicines management service is provided to prisoners.

You will lead a team of support staff and work closely with a range of clinicians and non-clinicians from Primary Care, Mental Health, and other health partners in ensuring effective delivery of pharmacy services.

About You

You will be a qualified Registered Pharmacist- BSc or Master’s Degree in Pharmacy, holding registration with the General Pharmaceutical Council. You will have a real passion for developing your Pharmaceutical skills and those of your team.

You’ll have a flexible approach to working within a team that encourages new ideas. If you are self-motivated and able to work autonomously as well as showing plenty of initiative when it comes to handling a wide range of situations, then this could be the right role for you!

About Us

We’re the UK’s leading independent provider of healthcare services in prisons and youth offender establishments.

We believe in putting the patient first, regardless of the environment or their history. That’s why we’re proud to deliver quality healthcare in some of the most challenging environments; care that is equal to what you receive in the community. We’re passionate about making a difference in the lives of prisoners by improving their health, securing their well-being, and helping to reduce re-offending behaviour.

We deliver round-the-clock healthcare to more than 40,000 patients at over 45 prisons of all categories. Prisons are a community like any other and we offer all of the health services any community needs in one place and with a single team. These range from reception health checks on arrival and regular GP services, to help with substance misuse, mental health, chronic or long-term conditions, podiatry, physiotherapy, and optometry.
